Plasma Televisions
High definition television is the standard for today. Flat screens, like plasms, LCD and DLP not only look good but have the picture capabilities to fully enjoy the high definition free to guest television and movies. Further, the televisions are becoming part of the room décor with features like back lighting, mood lighting and built in wood frames to match furniture.
Screen sizes range from the smaller 27” to a huge 103” televisions. Today all major manufacturers have hospitality line (commercial) televisions that allow for smart port integration and STB integration with VoD providers.
One of the most forgotten aspects of televisions is the remote control. All televisions will come with their own remote, but don’t forget the VoD provider. An integrated, simple remote control that will server FTG and VoD is an important aspect of the guest experience.
Lighting Control
Everyone likes to come home – or to a guest room – and be greeted with a warm, well
lit environment. Welcome scenes and lighting control are pivotal in creating an environment for guests to enjoy. Special integration with VoIP telephones and VoD portals can allow the guest to manage the lighting scenes through different access portals. Remote management of lights can create warm welcome scenes, turn-down service evening scenes and much more.
Mood Lighting
The mood of the room can be set visually using mood lighting. Subtle LED bars in head boards, back lighting of flat screen televisions and accent lighting around window dressings are just a few examples of what can be done.
Remote control of the mood lighting can be integrated into the room controls. Mood settings can set like ‘romantic’, ‘reading’ and ‘television’ using different lighting scenarios to enhance the guest experience.
Mirror Television
A small television embedded into a mirror creates a high tech ‘wow’ reaction. In the bathroom, a guest can enjoy watching CNN while going through the morning routine. In the lobby, the monitor can display public announcements and streaming video while becoming a seamless part of the décor
