The following instructions will walk you through the setup process for Windows XP.
1) Begin by closing all applications. Once you have closed your applications, click on Start then click Control Panel.
2) You will be presented with a new window that has several catagories to choose from. Select Network and Internet Connections.
3) In the bottom portion of the new window you will have two options, "Internet Options" and "Network Connections". Click on Network Connections.
4) In the "Network Connections" window click on Create a new connection under "Network Tasks".
5) The "New Connection Wizard" will appear. Click the Next button to begin. Select Connect to the Internet then click Next.
6) In the Getting Ready window, select Set up my connection manually, then click Next.
7) When asked for the type of Internet connection, select Select using a dial-up modem, then click Next.
8) Enter a name for your connection (we suggest Transbeam).
9) Enter the Area Code and Telephone Number you were issued for you dial up in the field provided. Click the Next button.
10) Enter your logon id and password in the fields provided. Make sure you select the boxes shown below. The last option in the window, "Turn on Internet Connection Firewall", may or may not be checked. We recommend you take advantage of XP's built in protection but it is not required to function. Once completed click Next.
11) We recommend you select the option to add a shortcut to your desktop but it is optional. Otherwise click Finish.
