Windows 2000 Dialup Setup


The following instructions will walk you through the setup process for Windows 2000.

1) Begin by closing all applications. Once you have closed your applications, right click on "My Network Places" and click Properties.

2) You will be presented with a window with one or more selections. Double Click on "Make New Connection".

3) The "Network Connection Wizard" will appear. Click the Next button to begin. Select Dial-up to the Internet then click Next.

4) The "Internet Connection Wizard" will appear on your screen. Select the third option, I want to setup my Internet connection manually..., then click Next.

5) When asked how you would like to connect to the Internet, select I connect through a phone line..., then click Next.

6) Enter the Area Code and Telephone Number you were issued for you dial up in the fields provided and make sure Use area code and dialing rules is checked. Click the Next button.

7) Enter your logon id and password in the fields provided and click Next.

8) Enter a name for your connection (we suggest Transbeam).

9) If you are prompted to "Set up your Internet Email Account", select No then click Next. Otherwise you click on the Finish button to automatically test your new dial up connection you created.
